9 of 10 Private Clubs Offer Basically the Same Member Experience.
Is Your Club One of Them?
Capture Your Members Attention with a Luxury Entertainment Experience They Cannot Get Anywhere Else
Dear Private Club Executive,
Let’s face it: as a club manager or event planner in South Florida, you are competing against the best in the world for your members’ attention every day. The finest food, wine, and service have become an entry-level commodity - there are literally dozens of restaurants and clubs with world-class service a stone’s throw from your doorstep.
That makes the members’ club experience more important than ever before. You have to capture your members attention and fascinate them with personalized experiences they cannot obtain anywhere else.
Small events like wine dinners and chef’s tables have helped to focus members’ attention back on your club. Members love these a one-of-a-kind, interactive experiences. The guests they bring are blown away - if not outright jealous that their club doesn’t do that.
But wine dinners and chef’s tables have been done already. You need to continually offer a steady stream of new events to maintain that feeling of exclusivity.
Let’s reimagine the “wine dinner” event, making it feel fresh and new by featuring entertainment, rather than a chef or sommelier.
Magic fits perfectly in luxury club environment because no other form of entertainment leaves your guests saying, “Something IMPOSSIBLE just happened, and I was a part of it.”
That’s meaningful experience that gives your members a story they can re-tell and re-live for years to come.
Here’s proof: When I perform at your club, your members proudly tell me they saw Jimmy Grippo perform magic in the VIP Bacchanal Room at Caesar’s Palace in the 1970’s. Others rave about watching Del Ray and Don Alan at invitation-only corporate hospitality events during trade shows and conferences for companies like IBM in the 1980’s.
The appeal isn’t just the legendary performers: it’s the exclusivity, the personalization, and the venue. They aren’t watching a stage show with thousands of other people, or being approached by a magician at a party. They were inches away from a very special performance, given just for them, in an elegant environment.
That’s why they’re still talking about it thirty years later. They’re proudly saying that they saw master craftsmen at work in their ideal environment.
That’s the definition of a luxury entertainment experience.
Even though magic is more popular now than ever before, this kind of intimate, close-up experience is still incredibly rare.
The Good News: with almost zero effort, you can produce this unique experience for your members.
Here’s how it would work:
We’ll start the night by performing strolling close-up magic during cocktails.
The magic will break the ice and kick off a fun night, and give everyone a chance to meet the magician and see some mind-blowing magic before dinner. You’ll see the crowds and hear the applause, so you’ll know the event is already a hit.
Then, we’ll go into the dining room for dinner. You’ve already got a fantastic food and beverage program at your club, so you don’t need my advice here.
After dessert, it’s time for feature event: The Masters Show. This is the same program I perform for our VIP corporate guests during The Masters Tournament in Augusta, GA.
Like you, our corporate host at The Masters wanted to create an unforgettable event his guests will talk about for years to come. For ten consecutive years, his guests have said it’s one of the highlights of their Masters experience. That’s high praise, given that The Masters is on almost every business executive’s bucket list.
The Masters Show is always a hit because features things your members love and relate to: golf, travel, wine, card games and gambling, and of course mind-reading. With so much audience involvement, no two shows are quite the same. And, because most of this material cannot be performed table-to-table, this show will feel particularly special and new to your members.
After the show, we’ll return to the cocktail lounge for a nightcap before heading home.
It’ll be a uniquely entertaining evening your members will be talking about all year long, and an experience they’ll look forward to repeating again and again.
Important Information You Need To Know:
The Masters Show runs approximately 75 minutes and is best performed for groups of 10 to 50. When you fill your reservation maximum of 50, we can arrange additional performances.
I will provide you with all the video, social media posts, email templates, camera-ready photos, and promotional material you’ll need to make this event an overwhelming success.
This program will be available to clubs in South Florida through the 2019/2020 season. October is National Magic Month.
By using the coupon you received in the mail, the fee for your event is only $2000 per day, due at contract signing. My normal fee for the Masters Show is $4000 plus first class ground transportation (total approx $5500 per day).
This program will pay for itself. With a prix fixe dinner, you can easily offer your members this experience for $90 to $100 per person. In the rare occasions a show like this is presented for the paying public, ticket prices start at $150 and do not include anything (much less dinner at a luxury club like yours).
“YOU’LL HEAR RAVE REVIEWS” GUARANTEE: If you don’t have members telling you what a great time they had, or if you’re unsatisfied with the experience, you get your money back immediately. I’ll have $2000 in cash in my pocket - ready to return to you - should you be disappointed in any way.
Is everything ok, Mike? Why are you giving us such an incredible deal?
Two reasons: first, this is a new idea, and change takes courage. The discount is an ethical bribe to try out this new program. I also know that if you book one show with me, your members will want me back at least two or three more times for other events within five years. They’ll also book their own corporate events, holiday parties, and private events. People who have seen my show are my best salespeople.
The second reason is a little more important - My son Ben wants a dog. Our beloved beast Wrigley died shortly after Ben was born. It was a really awful and tragic day. I won’t go into it, but we’ve been dog-less for a little more than two years, and with greyhound racing ending in Florida this year, it’s time. To get a new dog, we’ll need a larger vehicle, so I thought I’d do a quick promotion to pay for it.
And I’m not worried about the guarantee. I’ve never had an unhappy client in 20 years.
You get a “Done For You” event worthy of Fortune500 executives and their top clients at an incredible discount. Your members get a mind-blowing experience they’ll talk about for years to come. Ben gets a dog.
Does this sound like something that might work at your club?
If so, let’s get started.
Call my office at (561) 596 3877 or email miked@mikeduseberg.com to check availability.
Looking forward,
Mike Duseberg
PS: Not all dates are available for this promotion. We are already booked for most of the winter holidays, and I’ll be in Augusta for Masters Week. October is National Magic Month, which might be an excellent tie into your event calendar.
PPS: I’m only going to book enough of these shows to pay for the new vehicle in cash. Once we hit the magic number, the promotion will end immediately. If you’re interested, call now.
PPPS: Like the idea, but not sure if this will work in your event spaces? As a corporate entertainer, a big part of my job is adapting my program to the client’s venue. Call this office at (561) 596 3877, and we’ll see how we can make this work.
